IDG Romania: "Opinion & Trends for 2011"

22.03.2011

"While it is a common practice to embrace a new year with a list of resolutions it is also vital to analyze the previous years' activity and to be able to foresee the trends in business, especially when you are on lT&C company,as Novensys.
This helps us understand the dynamics of the market, anticipate and prepare for the future changes with intelligent solutions. There are three main areas of interest when it comes to anticipate the activities for  2011; business areas with a positive evolution, technologies and trends in working environment.
Although the drivers will be different, improvements will be seen probably in most of the IT&C business areas.
The retail industry, after two problematic years, has already proved that is coming back to growth with an extension of its networks (relevant examples are MIC.RO and Mega lmage). The boost in the retail area will automatically engage the distribution/transport and logistics areas.
Manufacturing and distribution areas will have to continue the efforts to optimize the internal processes which will imply the use of integrated information systems. ln addition to help the public sector will expeience progress taking into consideration the efforts to get access to European funding, with 2013 as the last year of this European budgetary exercise.
Mobility, cloud computing and social networking remain the primarily focuses when it comes to technologies.
Mobility will be the one to bring a difference to how we do our daily job and how we deliver content. Cloud computing will make the IT&C industry be more opened towards free circulation of goods, services and people, though this brings a new question: how easy it will be for a Dutch lT&C company to sell in Ronania and vice-versa? Facebook and Twitter are no longer dedicated exclusively to consumer zone. Nowadays they have entered the B2B area which gives us an important clue towards new marketing, customer care and reach approaches (as a good practice example DELL is selling via social networking and PSION has redefined itself as an Open Platform).
In terms of trends in the working envionment, the previous years have determined almost a natural selection of the lT workforce which made the lT&C industry perform better than other sectors of activity. On the other hand there is still a lack of competences in the IT consulting for vertical areas, Sales Management and Project Management which will determine other changes. Overall 2011 will be a promising year for the lT&C industry that we Iook forward to while continuing to create naturally integrated solutions."
