Novensys for Meter Reading

Gas and electricity meter reading for households can be carried out manually with the aid of specialized equipment that transfers information in real-time to a centralized database. Software and Hardware Architecture of the Solution
The application consists of two components: software and hardware. The software component is designed for both back office personnel and field workforce and manages operations such as reporting, tables management, data import and export with the enterprise resource planning system (ERP); the software component also centralizes the information acquired by the field workforce. The hardware component consists of mobile computers for data capture, reading the meter series and the actual indexes, and of mobile printing label equipment, which allows printing of special, unique labels for the meters. For every meter read, the data is recorded and validated. Data is synchronized with the central ERP system through GPRS technology.
Novensys for Meter Reading Features:
• The interface connector with the SAP system allows the connection of the Novensys for Meter Reading solution to a central ERP system and ensures bidirectional data interchange between the two applications;• The SQL connection ensures data transfer between your desktop application and the database of the Novensys solution;
• The synchronization application is in charge of the data transfer between mobile computers and the desktop application and allows defining and managing of user tables, mobile computers, access rights to application modules, routes, data synchronization and reporting;
• The Terminal application – is running on mobile computers and allows data capture and recording through scanning the meter barcode and posting the index for it.
