Novensys takes mobility to a higher level
18.03.2008Novensys, one of the most important providers of solutions for information management in Romania announces the launching of a new mobility application. The application implies the usage of an intelligent mobile computer, with built-in GPS system and a cutting-edge printer, able to print delivered products and services right at their point of sales. The two equipments are a Psion Ikon mobile computer and a Zebra mobile printer, RW series. The price of these two equipments ranges between 700 and 3000 euro per operator. The built-in GPS receiver delivers the GPS coordinates of the location where the goods are delivered/exchanged and the beneficiary can sign the confirmation of receipt on the printed paper. Alternatively, the goods recipient can do the confirmation of receipt himself by placing his signature on the display of the mobile computer. Furthermore, the mobile printers support smart card and magnetic card reading devices.
„Thus mobility reaches the highest level of technological performance in Romania. This application redefines the role of field workers and brings important benefits in terms of cost, productivity and cash flow. The process starts with route planning by automatic route assignment on the mobile computers at the beginning of each day. The stand-by period necessary for the checking of the goods is eliminated and drivers can start their work earlier. They can use the mobile computers in order to register deliveries and check the stock in the trucks. They are able to issue receipts, invoices, advice of delivery and other papers printed with the help of the mobile printers. The GPS system allows optimization of the routes and the truck can be traced along the entire route. The application virtually shortens the invoicing cycle, reducing it from at most two weeks to on site delivery; it also eliminates total cost of the invoicing cycle, expedition costs, costs generated by invoicing errors, loss of invoices or wrong deliveries of goods, customer service costs and brings on spectacular rise in invoice settlement time. For companies that provide parcel delivery services, as the AWB codes are being scanned, the date, hour and minute and also the GPS coordinates of the delivery location are automatically assigned. Introducing on the delivery payment of goods and services favors both the supplier of goods and services and the beneficiary, because it reduces by more than 20% the resources required for sustaining sale and reception of goods/field payment. The accounting departments wont' have to process that many invoices and the customer relationship departments will take and solve fewer calls, because the customers can check and approve the invoices with the company's own sales representatives", states Romeo Iacob, Sales and Marketing Director, Novensys.
If the goods are delivered to stores, the time spent with receiving and checking papers decreases with about 60%. Using the EDI standard (Electronic Data Exchange) information regarding invoices can automatically be transferred directly to the store's system. Given the fact that mobility is becoming a competitive advantage for many companies in Romania, this application will radically alter the role of field workers in a company. The staff in the service and delivery departments is presented new responsibilities, while the sales staff carries out more and more services for the customers of the company, that choose to invest in mobility.
