At the beginning of this year the fusion between Symbol and Motorola was completed, Symbol becoming Motorola. The transaction was carried out on the 9th of January, after being previously approved by Symbol shareholders at a special meeting of shareholders. With the closing of the transaction, trading in Symbol common stock was halted at the close of business that day. Nowadays, Symbol is part of Motorola Networks & Enterprise, a business with an annual profit of 13 billion USD in 2005. Motorola - Symbol has become global leader in business mobility solutions.
